Position Overview
Seller Systems Software is looking for a Senior Accountant to take charge of our financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning. This role goes beyond traditional accounting—it blends hands-on financial management with strategic oversight, ensuring the company’s financial health and scalability. You’ll be responsible for everything from month-end close and compliance to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. As a key financial leader in our fast-growing startup, you’ll play a critical role in shaping financial strategy and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities (tasks associated with the role)
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring efficient cash flow management.
- Conduct financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
- Process payroll, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and employee compensation accuracy.
- Oversee audit preparation and internal controls, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
Tax, Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, particularly in SaaS-related taxation.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage travel credit cards, employee expenses, and corporate spending policies.
Strategic Activities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning to support company growth.
- Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity and financial health.
- Oversee banking relationships, investments, and debt management, including evaluating potential financing options.
- Track runway projections, ensuring the company maintains sufficient operating capital.
Requirements (expected proficiencies to excel in this role)
This position is for a person who is:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a startup, SaaS, or e-commerce environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close procedures.
- Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Stripe, and Excel/Google Sheets for financial modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial functions in a growing company.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- A startup mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, proactive in solving problems, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
- Familiarity with SaaS financial structures and tax implications is a plus.

Offer Details
- This is a full-time, employee position with preference given to candidates in the Miami area
- Pay is between $90,000 and $110,000/year commensurate with experience.
- Benefits include a healthcare stipend, computer, phone, and unlimited PTO.
